ePortfolios - a solution for proctoring nightmares?
This week I learned about e-portfolios - a way for students to demonstrate their learning through gathering artifacts that show their progress.
It seems we never have a staff meeting where we don’t discuss the importance for job skills and career readiness. If it’s not the official mission statement of the Selkirk Business School, it should be.
At a time when traditional exam proctoring is impossible, and every solution during the reign of Covid seems to present an endless litany of spin off problems, this might be the solution.
There’s a parallel here between the way accountants wrap up financial statements and the multiple records that support them in working paper files and having a student support their learning through an eportfolio.
Maybe there’s an opportunity here for me to redesign accounting assessments as a workingpaper file inspired ePortfoilio?
What would I put in my own?
